STADE DE FRANCE

The monument I decided to speak about is the french stadium « Stade De France » because I like football and rugby an I think that it is one of the most beautiful stadium in Europe.

« Stade De France » is located in the district of “La Plaine Saint-Denis” in “Saint-Denis” (Seine-Saint-Denis), north suburb of Paris.

It was created by 4 people : Michel Macary, Aymeric Zublena, Michel Regembal and Claude Costantini for the football world cup 1998 organized in France.

« Stade De France » is an oval stadium.

It was inaugurated in 1998 on January 28^th by Jacques Chirac, President of French Republic.

« Stade De France » possess 81.338 seats. It’s the stadium of the French football team and also the French rugby team. But it can be sometimes a stadium for concert.

The three most important victories of a french team playing in « Stade De France » are :

-         France – Brazil football (3 – 0). It was during the final of football world cup 1998.

-         France – New Zeland rugby (20-18). It was during the quarter final of the rugby world cup 2007.

-         France – Italie football (2 – 1). It was during the final of the football europeen cup in 2000.

 « Stade De France » is today the only stadium in the world where was played a World Cup final of World football Cup and also a World Cup final of World rugby Cup.  

I already visited four stadiums :  “Geoffroy Guichard” in Saint Etienne (France), “L’abbé des champs” in Auxerre (France), “Loujniki” in Moscow (Russia) and the big stadium “Maracana” in Rio De Janeiro (Brazil). I would like now to visit the French stadium.
